April 14th-18th 2008, PROMECON World Wide Agents meeting
PROMECON will hold their world wide agent´s meeting in Barleben from the 14th through the 18th of April. New Technology and Applications will be presented to our partners and agents throughout the world.

July 2, 2007 representatives of the Indian Government and the Power Industry were visiting PROMECON on behalf of GTZ (Gesellschaft für techn.Zusammenarbeit) and STEAG encotec. Hans Georg Conrads, the president of PROMECON, furnished information on new technologies with regard to efficiency improvement and CO2 emission reduction.

PROMECON holds seminar on Energy Efficiency for Cement plants in India.

On behalf of GTZ Germany (Gesellschaft für technische Zusammenarbeit) PROMECON GmbH presented new technologies for the optimization of fan operation on Cement plants.

The presentation was held on a seminar June 12th and June 14th in Delhi and Mumbai. It was arranged by GTZ and the BEE (bureau for energy efficiency, see also www.energymanagertraining.com). Part of the presentation was also the Germany Cement Association (VDZ), who presented details on CO2 balancing and environmental certification in Germany and Europe.

Hitachi Power Europe buys MECONTROL Coal system.

One of Europe´s leading boiler makers, Hitachi Power Europe GmbH in Duisburg, purchases PROMECON´s MECONTROL Coal system. The system will be used to optimize mill commissioning and save time during mill setup. It will be used for the new 800 MW power boiler of EVONIK in Walsum. After Babcock Hitachi Kure (Japan) and ALSTOM Energy Systems GmbH Stuttgart, this is the third boiler maker to use the PROMECON technology for mill measurement and setup.

Largest UK coal fired power station gets complete package of MECONTROL UBC
on all 6 boilers.

PROMECON has installed a MECONTROL UBC system for the on line measurement of fly ash quality in all 6 boilers of the DRAX power station in the UK. The station had struggled for a while to find the suitable technology for their ash quality measuring and sorting programme and installed a MECONTROL system last year on 2 660 MW units for evaluation. Now all 6 units each having 660 MW, each producing over 400 tons of ash per day, have been successfully retrofitted with the PROMECON technology.

The Danish power producer DONG energy, who has installed PROMECON´s coal measurement systems in several coal fired power stations (Asnaes 750 MW station with 48 burners, Stigsnaes 350 MW station with 24 burners) has ordered an 8 channel mobile system for the measurement of coal mass flow in various plants.

PROMECON gets order to retrofit UKs largest power station with MECONTROL ubc
(6 boilers). After successful test of the system in 2006 the station has now decided to retrofit the whole plant with PROMECON technology. The systems will be used for production monitoring of Fly Ash.
PROMECON gets order to retrofit 3 boilers of TXU‘s Marting Lake station with
MECONTROL air.

Vattenfall Power Station Reuter West decides for MECONTROL Air on primary air flows.

Power Station Reuter West has decided to use the MECONTROL air system on their primary air flows in the future. After retrofitting 64 Venturi measurements on secondary air in the years 2003 and 2004 the station has now decided to replace the primary air flows with a PROMECON measurement as well

PROMECON gets award for new TXU Oakgrove boiler Primary Air flow measurement.
PROMECON gets award for retrofitting MECONTROL ubc to Power Station Aberthaw of RWE in the UK.
PROMECON delivers the first System to the Bulgarian Copper Smelter CUMERIO in Pirdop. The 8 channel system will be used to optimize draft fan controls for saving energy and lowering emmissions.

PROMECON gets award for 3 pilot projects in the Cement and Power industry in India. The projects will be coordinated by the Germany GTZ (Gesellschaft for technische Zusammenarbeit), and shall demonstrate the savings potential in the rapidly growing Cement and Power industry in India.

ALSTOM Energy Stuttgart, has successfully applied MECONTROL coal system in mill retrofit at Mannheim Power Station (GKM).

ALSTOM has selected the MECONTROL Coal system for the on line measurement and adjustment of their new coal mills at the Mannheim power station (GKM). One unit of the power station was converted from oil firing to coal firing. For this ALSTOM had been awarded the contract to deliver the coal mills. ALSTOM selected the mobile coal measurement system MECONTROL Coal of PROMECON to be used for setting up the mills and checking the mass flow distribution to the coal burners.

PROMECON successfully installs new measurement McON air in various Cement Plants in the USA, Mexico, Canada, France and Poland: The new McON air system has been successfully introduced to the first applications, mainly in the Cement Sector. The system is easy to use and to install, which has been performed by clients themselves. This new product line opens new ways in optimizing Cement and Steel Plants.
