The IEA Clean Coal center has chosen PROMECON GmbH as expert partner for the description and review of clean coal combustion technologies.

"We are fond of being asked an important body such as the IEA to make our contribution to this important matter.  Coal based electricity generation is still the back bone of the global electricity production.  Affordable and reliable electricity puts children in schools and brings prosperity and well-being to all people especially in underdeveloped and emerging countries. Where coal fired power generation will go in the future remains to be seen, as the sheer mass of generation capacity cannot be replaced in short or even mid-term.  Will it be more biomass firing (for some smaller portion of coal boilers maybe an option) ? Or will we convert to CO2 sequestration and storage?  How much can the coal fired boiler fleet be reduced and be replaced by renewable power generation?  How highly flexible in load must these stations be?  PROMECON GmbH is on the technological fore front in finding solutions to these pressing questions.  The road ahead of us is challenging, and an ecological as well as economical solution must be found.  PROMECON GmbH will support new paths on power and heat generation that will help to lower the CO2 emissions in the best possible and economical way, so that electricity will not become a luxury good for a small global community but remain a commodity for all people living on this planet.
